The Garmin SUPRA THX1604 underwater lighting system is a high-power through-hull lighting solution designed for sport boats, motor yachts, sailboats, and superyachts. This model stands out with its high luminous flux and ultra-wide 110-degree beam, providing extended underwater illumination. With a total luminous flux of 45,000 lumens and up to 20,000 lumens at the fixture for white light, it outperforms lower-power models such as the THX404 or THX804 in the same Lumishore/Garmin range, as well as many entry-level underwater lights.
Advanced performance and features
The SUPRA THX1604 integrates a set of HICOB Array LEDs, ensuring a typical lifespan of over 50,000 hours. This model, the SUPRA THX1604 (SKU 010-04519-00), is a dual-color blue/white version delivering 20,000 lumens at the fixture. The THX1604 range is also available as an RGBW color option (17,500 lumens at the fixture), offering flexibility to match the vessel’s aesthetics. Maximum power draw is 6.5 A at 24 VDC, with an average power consumption of 156 W. The system is powered by a 24 VDC operating voltage (range 20–31 VDC).
Integration and robustness
The THX1604 design features a marine-grade bronze housing and a borosilicate glass lens, ensuring resistance to marine environments and an IP68 waterproof rating. The compact electronic driver module is external for operational reliability. The through-hull installation, with a low-profile and flush design, is intended for the transom or hull sides, using a standard 1-inch fitting. Control is versatile, via the SUPRA i-Connect Hub & Switch, compatible multifunction displays (MFD) with the SUPRA Bridge module, an optional Lumishore display, a momentary switch, or via WiFi from a smartphone or tablet. These extended control options position it favorably compared to competing solutions with less integration flexibility.
