Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed to modernize sailboat instrumentation, the Garmin GNX™ 43 wireless sailing pack is a complete solution for acquiring essential navigation data. This pack includes the gWind™ Wireless 2 wind sensor, the GNX™ Wind and GNX 20 instrument displays, and the through-hull transducers GDT 43 (depth) and GST 43 (speed and temperature), all with 43 mm fittings.
Simplified installation and accurate data
One of the main advantages of this pack is its gWind™ Wireless 2 sensor. This wireless wind transducer eliminates the need to run cables through the mast, significantly simplifying installation on masts up to 50 feet (approximately 15 meters). It uses Nexus dual-fin technology with a 3-blade propeller for precise wind speed measurement and stable wind angle. Its angular accuracy is better than ±1.5° and its speed accuracy better than ±3%, covering a wind range from 0.8 to 90 knots (0.4 to 50 m/s). The sensor is built for durability at sea with an IPX6 waterproof rating. It is powered by a rechargeable battery via an integrated solar panel, optimizing autonomy.
Dedicated displays and extended connectivity
The GNX™ Wind and GNX 20 displays, with identical physical dimensions (110 x 115 x 30 mm) and weighing 230 g, feature optically bonded monochrome LCD screens. These 4-inch diagonal screens (83 x 60 mm) offer high visibility thanks to customizable backlighting, ensuring clear readability day and night. The GNX Wind can simultaneously display two data fields and a digital wind rose, showing true and apparent wind data, helm guidance, and boat speed. Both instruments are NMEA 2000® certified, enabling easy plug-and-play integration into the boat’s NMEA 2000 network for data sharing with other compatible Garmin devices. Their power consumption is optimized for sailing, with only 0.35 W during the day (without backlighting) and 0.4 W at night (medium backlighting). Users can configure displays with over 15 essential marine parameters. Additionally, the GNX Wind can wirelessly connect via ANT® technology to a quatix® 3 marine GPS watch to stream wind data directly to the wrist. Compared to more general-purpose multifunction displays, these GNX displays are specifically designed for clarity and accessibility of sailing instrumentation data, positioning themselves as a dedicated solution for navigators requiring key information at a glance.
