The Icom IP110H portable radio is a professional Wi-Fi radio designed for real-time voice communications over an existing WLAN (wireless LAN). It operates on 2.4 GHz (2.4-2.4835 GHz) and 5 GHz (5.15-5.35 GHz and 5.47-5.85 GHz) frequency bands, providing increased flexibility for network infrastructures. This portable radio supports full-duplex communications, allowing users to talk and listen simultaneously, similar to a telephone conversation, while also managing one-to-many communications.
Performance and robustness
With a typical audio power of 1000 mW via its internal speaker, the IP110H ensures excellent intelligibility even in noisy environments. Its integrated battery provides over 20 hours of autonomy (Tx 1: Rx 1: Standby 8 ratio), with a charging time of approximately 4 hours (using BC-257 and BC-228). Designed for demanding conditions, it meets MIL-STD-810-G durability standards with 12 types of environmental tests, and features IP67 protection, making it dustproof and submersible in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, as well as IP54 resistance. It supports operating temperatures from -10°C to +60°C.
Advanced features and system integration
The Icom IP110H integrates Bluetooth version 4.2 (HFP, HSP profiles) for hands-free use with optional headsets such as the VS-3. It offers essential safety functions such as manual alarm, PTI (Isolated Worker Protection), and Lone Worker, as well as motion/immobility detection to trigger emergency calls. The system is highly scalable and does not require a radio frequency license, reducing operational costs. It supports various call types (all, group, talkgroup, individual, and telephone calls via an optional RoIP gateway VE-PG4). Centralized radio management is facilitated by remote programming (OTAP), and WPA2-Enterprise compatibility ensures enhanced communication security. For full operation, a compatible Wi-Fi infrastructure and an Icom IP1100CV or VE-PG4 controller are required, enabling communication range extension via VPN over the Internet.
