Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed to improve pressurized water systems, the Jabsco 1-liter expansion tank (part number 30573-0000) is an accumulator tank that optimizes the operation of pressure-switch-controlled water pumps. It is compatible with various applications, including boats, motorhomes, and coaches, contributing to more efficient water management.
Technical Specifications
This expansion tank features a shock- and pressure-resistant plastic construction with an internal nitrile bladder. Its capacity is 1 liter (34 fl oz). It supports a maximum operating pressure of 8.6 bar (125 psi) and is supplied with a precharge of 0.7 bar (10 psi), adjustable according to the pump’s cut-in pressure. The tank weighs 0.7 kg and measures 337 mm in length by 121 mm in diameter. It is equipped with a plastic tire-type air valve.
Benefits for the Water System
Installing the Jabsco 30573-0000 expansion tank ensures smoother, more consistent water flow by reducing pressure fluctuations between the pump and outlets. This regulation minimizes pump start/stop cycles, resulting in a quieter water system and reduced water hammer. By limiting pump operation, it extends pump life and reduces battery energy consumption. A steady water flow also provides better temperature control, particularly beneficial with instantaneous water heaters and showers.
Installation and Fittings
The tank is designed for easy installation on existing or new systems. It comes with snap-fit fittings, including a straight barbed 1/2" fitting, a 1/2" barbed elbow, and two 1/2-14 male straight-thread pipe fittings. Due to its sealed internal bladder, it requires periodic precharge checks and allows mounting in any orientation. For safety, it is recommended to install a relief valve set to a maximum of 8.6 bar (125 psi).
