Detailed description
Detailed description
The LCJ CAPTEURS CV7SF2 is an ultrasonic wireless wind transducer/vane anemometer designed for accurate wind measurement on various marine and land installations. This sensor is self-powered by its integrated solar panel and a LiFePO4 battery, providing 35 days of autonomy in total darkness at a 1 Hz update rate.
Wind module performance
The CV7SF2 delivers reliable measurements with a wind module sensitivity of 0.25 m/s (0.4 knots) and a resolution of 0.05 m/s (0.1 knots). Its measurement range spans from 0.25 to 40 m/s (0.4 to 80 knots). For wind direction, it offers a sensitivity of +/- 1.5° and a resolution of 1°, providing precise data for navigation and meteorological applications.
Connectivity and installation
The sensor wirelessly communicates with its NMEA0183 receiver over a 50 m range, extendable to 300 m in open space. The receiver requires an external 5–15 V DC power supply and draws 6 mA. The sensor weighs 180 g (head) and 280 g (full assembly) and is mounted on a 310 mm long, 16 mm diameter vertical aluminum arm. It is suited for environments from -10°C to +50°C (frost-free) and outputs data in NMEA0183 format (MWV, XDR) at 1 Hz (measurements at 16 Hz).
Versatile applications
This model is designed to meet the needs of cruising sailboats, sailing clubs, weather stations, sports clubs, and harbormasters. Its radio protocol, proven since 2013, ensures stable and reliable data transmission.
