Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for high-performance marine integration, the LCJ CV7 ultrasonic wind transducer / vane anemometer NMEA 2000 combined with the WINDYPLUG NMEA 2000 interface provides a solution for measuring wind and atmospheric data. The CV7 sensor uses ultrasonic technology, eliminating moving parts and reducing wear for long-term reliability.
CV7 Sensor Performance and Accuracy
The CV7 sensor delivers precise measurement of wind speed and direction. It has a wind sensitivity starting at 0.12 m/s (0.25 knots) with a resolution of 0.05 m/s (0.1 knots) and a dynamic range from 0.12 to 40 m/s (0.25 to 80 knots). Wind direction is measured with a sensitivity of +/- 1.5° and a resolution of 1°. Data refresh rate is 2 Hz, with internal measurements at 30 Hz. The sensor operates on 8 to 30 V DC power and consumes 9 mA. It is designed to function within a temperature range of -15°C (excluding icing) to +55°C. Its 310 mm angled aluminum arm (Ø12 mm) facilitates installation at masthead.
WINDYPLUG NMEA 2000 Integration
The WINDYPLUG NMEA 2000 interface enables direct connection of the CV7 sensor to your NMEA 2000 network. This adapter includes a barometric sensor. It transmits atmospheric pressure data (range 850 hPa to 1150 hPa) with a resolution of 1 hPa over NMEA 2000 V2. Relative accuracy is +/- 0.5 hPa at 20°C, and absolute accuracy is +/- 1.5 hPa at 20°C. The WINDYPLUG is powered via the NMEA 2000 network (8 V to 28 V DC) with a consumption of 1 LEN (< 40 mA with sensor) and features IP66 protection once connected. It weighs 35 g and measures 81 mm in length with a 17.5 mm diameter.
Features and Certifications
The system is CE, EN 55022, and EN 55024 certified, confirming compliance with European standards. The setup is configurable for wind angle adjustment, offering adaptability to user preferences. French manufacturing by LCJ Capteurs ensures quality control and a design focused on durability in marine environments.
