Detailed description
Detailed description
The Lowrance Eagle TripleShot transducer (part number 000-16285-001) is a transom-mount transducer designed exclusively for the Lowrance Eagle series multifunction displays, including the 5, 7, and 9-inch models. Weighing 0.3 kg, this hardware component includes a water temperature sensor and connects to the display via an 8-pin Twist-Lock port. It comes with a 6-meter (20-foot) cable to suit most mounting configurations on small to medium-sized boats.
3-in-1 Sonar Technologies
This model combines three distinct sonar frequencies in a single, streamlined housing. The High Wide CHIRP module ensures target separation in the water column for fish identification. DownScan Imaging generates high-resolution imagery of underwater structures directly beneath the hull. Finally, SideScan Imaging provides a lateral scan covering up to 183 meters (600 feet) on each side of the vessel, enabling rapid mapping of prospecting areas. The system is managed by the Autotuning function, which automatically adjusts sonar settings based on hydrological variations.
Image Processing and FishReveal Functionality
The transducer utilizes Lowrance's FishReveal software technology. This system merges raw data: it overlays fish echoes detected by the CHIRP beam directly onto the structural imagery from DownScan Imaging. This combination allows for the visual isolation of biological targets amidst rocks, weeds, or wrecks on a single screen, without requiring the display to be split into multiple windows.
Positioning in the Range and Market Alternatives
Within the Lowrance lineup, the TripleShot transducer is positioned above the SplitShot model, the latter lacking the SideScan function. It also differs from the Eagle Eye transducer, which is a distinct technology integrating Live sonar and exclusively for the Eagle Eye 9 display. In the broader marine electronics market, the TripleShot directly competes with transducers like the Garmin GT52HW-TM or the Raymarine HyperVision series, offering an all-in-one solution that prioritizes automatic settings for users seeking precise raw data without complex manual calibration.
