The Lumishore ECLIPSE SMX54 is a surface-mount bicolor (blue and white) underwater light, specifically designed for vessels up to 15 meters (50 feet) in length. It delivers a light output of 7,500 lumens in white mode and a total of 16,875 lumens, with a wide 90° beam angle. Operating on a voltage range of 10.5 to 31V DC (nominal 12V/24V DC), it draws a maximum of 5.9 A at 12V and 2.8 A at 24V, with an average power consumption of 71 W.
Design and Durability
The SMX54’s construction features a marine-grade bronze housing and a borosilicate glass lens, providing resistance to marine environments. Its IP68 rating ensures complete protection against dust and prolonged immersion. This robustness is comparable to other Lumishore underwater lights, ensuring longevity in harsh conditions.
Control and Integration Options
The Lumishore ECLIPSE SMX54 offers flexible control options. It can be operated via a simple on/off switch for basic modes (white at startup, then blue, strobe, or cycle fade on power cycle). For advanced integration, it is compatible with the ECLIPSE Command Center or a SUPRA i-Connect Hub & Switch. These systems allow control via a compatible multifunction display (MFD), or even via a smartphone/tablet using Wi-Fi® connectivity (with the ECLIPSE Command Center or a SUPRA Bridge and SUPRA Hub). This versatility makes it more flexible than competing solutions with limited control options.
Simplified Installation
The SMX54 is designed for surface mounting, simplifying installation compared to through-hull lights. It includes three marine-grade bronze mounting screws. The light is intended for installation on a flat surface of the transom or hull side, ideally between 100 and 300 mm below the minimum waterline for optimal illumination. An isolation kit (39-0203) is required for boats with conductive hulls to prevent galvanic corrosion. The SMX54 is a less intrusive alternative to the Lumishore ORA or EOS ranges, which require more significant hull penetrations.
