Detailed description
The MAD Interface Analog from MADINTEC is an analog acquisition module designed to integrate seamlessly with the MADBrain Autopilot autopilot system. It extends the data acquisition capabilities of the MADBrain navigation processor, enabling the connection of additional analog sensors for ultra-precise analysis of the marine environment. This module is an essential component for navigators seeking to maximize the performance and reliability of their onboard electronics system.
Integration and Performance of the MADBrain System
The MADBrain Autopilot system, of which the MAD Interface Analog is an optional extension, stands out for its reimagined approach to autopilot control. With a legacy in offshore racing (Vendée Globe, Transat Jacques Vabre, Route du Rhum) and adopted by renowned skippers on IMOCA, Ocean Fifty, Ultim, Class40, and Mini 6.50 classes, it is now accessible to all. Unlike more generic systems, MADBrain functions as a true navigation processor, centralizing and leveraging all electronic data through cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms. It captures movements and wind with exceptional resolution, up to 50 Hz for true wind, a frequency far exceeding market standards such as some classic NMEA 0183 sensors that may be limited to 1 Hz.
High-Resolution Data Acquisition
The role of the MAD Interface Analog is to complement the high-resolution acquisition network of the MADBrain. While MADBrain natively integrates CAN and Ethernet buses, as well as NMEA 2000 sensors (such as B&G ZG100 or Garmin 24XD GPS, B&G Precision 9 or Raymarine EV-1 compasses), the analog module allows the addition of data from non-digital specific sensors. This flexibility ensures that all critical boat data, whether from digital or analog sensors, is interpreted in real time by the MADBrain AI for rapid and precise steering decisions. The MADBrain system delivers unmatched course stability and responsiveness, with active adaptation to wind and boat dynamics, reducing actuator load and energy consumption. The MAD Interface Analog module is an option that enriches this system without added complexity, aligning with MADINTEC’s extended integration philosophy with third-party systems.
