Detailed description
Detailed description
The Mastervolt Mass GI 7.0kW isolation transformer provides complete galvanic isolation between shore power AC and the vessel’s onboard electrical system. This isolation is critical to prevent galvanic corrosion of metal components when grounding is present. With its modern high-frequency switching technology, this model stands out from traditional toroidal transformers due to its compact size and remarkably low weight of just 10 kg, while delivering a nominal power output of 7000 VA at 230 V with a continuous current of 32 A.
Electrical performance and integrated protections
The Mass GI 7.0kW accepts a wide input and output voltage range from 90 to 255 V, with a frequency of 45 to 65 Hz, making it adaptable to global electrical grids. Its standby power consumption is extremely low (44 W). The unit features multiple electronic safety systems: overload protection, peak current limitation, short-circuit protection, and thermal protection with automatic shutdown at 90°C at the heat sink. Unlike the Mass GI 3.5kW (16A) model in the same range, this 7.0kW version is specifically designed for installations requiring high power demand, while maintaining optimal efficiency in demanding marine environments with an operating temperature range of -20°C to 60°C.
System integration and MasterBus connectivity
Designed for seamless integration, this transformer features native connectivity to the MasterBus data network (based on the CAN protocol). This enables advanced monitoring and configuration directly from onboard displays. The IP23-rated housing includes cable glands for input and output wiring, as well as a front control panel with LED status indicators (load, faults, temperature, voltage). Its compact dimensions of 371 x 261 x 232 mm greatly facilitate installation in tight technical spaces.
