Detailed description
The Navico ActiveImaging™ 3-IN-1 sonar, part number 000-14489-001, is an underwater imaging solution designed for fishing, providing detailed views of structures and fish. It combines traditional CHIRP, SideScan, and DownScan Imaging technologies, along with a temperature sensor, all in a single unit for simplified installation. With its 7.6 m (25 ft) cable and 9-pin connector, it is compatible with Lowrance HDS LIVE, HDS Carbon, Elite Ti2 multifunction displays, Simrad NSS evo3 series, and GO series.
ActiveImaging™ Technology: Precision and Range
This sonar integrates ActiveImaging technology, which optimizes SideScan beam steering to enhance imaging resolution and range. It enables identification of structures such as rock piles, weed beds, and drop-offs at greater distances compared to earlier imaging technologies. The sonar’s polymer construction responds to sound waves similarly to water, contributing to image clarity. Separate sonar elements for SideScan transmission and reception increase ping speed and image resolution while improving lateral range. This technical approach provides an advantage over older imaging sonars by delivering finer details over a larger area.
Detailed Sonar Performance
The Navico ActiveImaging™ 3-IN-1 sonar operates on mid/high CHIRP frequencies (83/200 kHz) for traditional sonar, and 455 kHz and 800 kHz for SideScan and DownScan. Traditional sonar reaches a maximum depth of 305 m (1,000 ft) at 200 kHz/High CHIRP and 83 kHz/Mid CHIRP. DownScan reaches a depth of 91 m (300 ft), and SideScan has a lateral range of 91 m (300 ft) at 455 kHz and 46 m (150 ft) at 800 kHz. Optimal operating speeds are up to 48 knots (55 mph) for traditional sonar and up to 9 knots (10 mph) for DownScan and SideScan. The FishReveal™ feature overlays CHIRP sonar fish arches on high-resolution DownScan images, making it easier to distinguish fish from structures. Operating temperature range is -15°C to +55°C.
