Detailed description
Detailed description
The Navico NMEA2000 MOB (Man Overboard) button is a critical safety device designed for seamless integration into modern navigation networks. In the event of a crew member falling overboard, a single press of this button instantly triggers an alert on all connected multifunction displays and compatible instruments on the NMEA 2000 network, ensuring a rapid and coordinated response.
NMEA 2000 Integration and Reliability
This button communicates via the standard NMEA 2000 network using a Micro-C connector. It transmits PGN 127233 (Crew Overboard Notification), which is universally recognized by Navico chartplotters such as Lowrance, Simrad, B&G, as well as most other manufacturers. Installation is straightforward, requiring only a connection to the NMEA 2000 backbone. With a very low power consumption of 1 LEN (Load Equivalency Number), or 28 mA at 13.8 V, it does not burden the network.
Robust Design for Marine Environments
Designed for installation in the cockpit or at the chart table, the Navico MOB button features an IP67 waterproof rating, fully protecting it against dust and temporary immersion. It operates across a wide temperature range from -15°C to 55°C and includes reverse polarity protection, ensuring durability and reliability even in the most demanding marine conditions. Its lightweight design at 0.13 kg allows for easy mounting on any bulkhead.
