Detailed description
Detailed description
The NKE remote control (transmitter + receiver) is a wireless control solution designed for marine autopilots, integrating autopilot control functions and an automatic man-overboard (MOB) detection system. This unit combines autonomy and safety, providing sailors with remote management of their autopilot while ensuring protection in case of a fall.
Features and Technical Performance
The NKE remote transmitter is powered by a 3.6V lithium battery, offering a typical autonomy of 1 to 3 years. It has an IP68 waterproof rating, making it submersible and resistant to harsh marine environments, while the receiver is rated IP20. Weighing 65 grams, the unit is ergonomic and discreet. It operates within a temperature range of -10°C to +50°C and can be stored from -20°C to +60°C.
Integration and Advanced Safety
The system allows wireless control of the autopilot from various positions on board (helm, mast foot, bow), with functions including course changes, auto mode activation, autopilot stop, and triggering of tacks and gybes. The MOB detection system continuously transmits an identification code; its loss triggers an audible alarm and displays the bearing and distance to the MOB position. In "solo" mode with a wind sensor, the NKE autopilot tacks into the wind; without a sensor, it hard-overs the rudder to the opposite side of its last position. Up to 8 additional crew transmitters can be added for collective safety. This system connects to the NKE Topline bus via its universal radio receiver, ensuring seamless integration with existing NKE installations.
