Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin Panoptix™ PS70-TH transducer is a through-hull solution designed for integrating advanced Garmin sonar systems. Positioned as a key component for vessels requiring robust and permanent installation, it stands out for its extended compatibility with various hull types. Unlike simpler transducers such as transom-mount models, the PS70-TH is optimized for superior hydrodynamic performance and increased durability, essential for offshore navigation and demanding sport fishing applications.
Versatile installation and technical integration
This through-hull transducer is compatible with fiberglass hulls (whether single-skin or cored) as well as metal hulls, offering great installation flexibility. It can be mounted with the included fairing block on hulls with deadrise angles up to 20 degrees, or directly in a dedicated hull pocket. Installation requires meticulous hull preparation, including drilling specific holes for the rod and anti-rotation bolt, as well as rigorous marine sealing of exposed areas, particularly for cored hulls, to prevent water infiltration.
Robust design for optimal performance
The Garmin Panoptix™ PS70-TH’s mounting system features an anti-rotation bolt, essential for maintaining transducer stability and preventing structural damage when the vessel is underway. This feature, combined with the requirement for precise installation (alignment with the vessel’s centerline, positioning away from turbulence generated by propellers or other appendages), ensures clean and reliable sonar data collection. Installation requires specific tools and technical skills to ensure optimal performance and equipment longevity, positioning the PS70-TH as a preferred solution for users seeking reliability and precision with compatible Garmin systems.
