Detailed description
Detailed description
The Exocet essential processor by Pixel sur Mer is an all-in-one navigation hub designed for offshore racing, integrating essential data management, autopilot, and safety functions. This robust and standardized unit adapts to a wide range of projects, making IMOCA and Ultim-proven technology accessible to all sailors. The 2025 version introduces significant improvements, including enhanced Man Overboard (MOB) functionality and new graph-based analysis tools.
Key Features and Data Processing
The Exocet essential excels in advanced true wind and leeway calculations, providing reliable performance indicators. It handles data collection, processing, and retransmission, with 1Hz logging for detailed analysis. A customizable alert system notifies the crew of sensor failures or weather changes. A major feature is automatic sensor failure management, allowing the system to switch to another sensor in case of failure, ensuring continuous data flow.
Autopilot and Trajectory Optimization
This processor offers performance and safety overlays for autopilot systems, including optimization for B&G H5000 systems. These overlays provide intelligent trajectory commands, improving boat behavior and ensuring faster, safer steering. The Man Overboard (MOB) function is a critical safety feature, capable of initiating a trajectory change with autopilot commands to stop the boat, and even automatic Jon Buoy deployment (if equipped). The system is compatible with navigation software such as Adrena and Expedition.
