Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine A06064 5-way connector is a fundamental component for building and extending any SeaTalk NG navigation network. Designed to simplify wiring and improve reliability, this junction block serves as a centralized connection point, replacing the daisy-chaining of multiple individual T-connectors found in standard NMEA 2000 networks.
Simplified network architecture
This connector enables the creation of a clean, organized backbone. It features five ports: two blue ports for connecting the main backbone cable and three white ports for linking devices and sensors (drop connections or "spurs"). This configuration allows up to three instruments—such as a display, wind sensor, or GPS antenna—to be connected at a single network point. Using this multiport block reduces the number of connections, minimizing potential failure points and simplifying troubleshooting.
Compatibility and positioning
Raymarine’s SeaTalk NG system is a proprietary implementation of the NMEA 2000 protocol. While the data is NMEA 2000-compatible, the connectors are Raymarine-specific, making components like the A06064 essential for any brand installation. Unlike Garmin or Navico’s standard T-connectors, which are assembled individually, the Raymarine 5-way block offers a more integrated and compact solution, particularly advantageous in confined spaces behind a console or dashboard.
