Designed for sailboats equipped with a tiller, the Raymarine Evolution EV-100 cockpit pilot (reference A80737) provides an autopilot system based on the EV-1 AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference Sensor) sensor technology. This 9-axis sensor replaces the traditional fluxgate compass for more accurate heading and attitude detection. The system is powered via the SeaTalk NG network with a nominal voltage of 12 V DC, operating within a range of 10.8 V to 15.6 V DC, and consumes 30 mA.

The Evolution EV-100 system integrates via the SeaTalk NG network, with a Load Equivalency Number (LEN) of 1, facilitating connectivity with other Raymarine equipment. Its design is optimized for reliable performance in a marine environment, with an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +55 °C and an IPx6 waterproof rating. The EV-1 sensor, the central component of the system, weighs 0.29 kg and has compact dimensions, with a diameter of 140 mm and a depth of 35 mm (with mounting housing) or 95 mm (with wall bracket).

While the Evolution EV-100 system uses the EV-1 AHRS sensor, designed for traditional steering systems (tiller, mechanical actuators), Raymarine also offers the EV-2 AHRS sensor for Drive-By-Wire (DBW) autopilot systems. This distinction positions the EV-100 specifically for tiller-steered sailboats, providing an autopilot solution tailored to the needs of this type of sailboat. For optimal performance, adding a rudder angle sensor (M81105) is recommended, and a compatible pilot controller (such as the p70/p70R/p70s/p70Rs series) is essential for system operation.
