Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for reliable and durable integration, the Raymarine T004 deck bracket is an essential mounting bracket for the Raymarine Micro Compass. This bracket allows for a fixed and secure installation of the compass on a horizontal surface, ensuring stability and accuracy in navigation.
Installation and Accuracy
Installing the T004 bracket requires the use of four non-magnetic screws, sized appropriately for your vessel to prevent structural damage. Once the bracket base is drilled and screwed to the deck, applying a sealant is necessary to ensure a perfect waterproof seal. The bracket then becomes a permanent installation on the deck. It is imperative that the compass is mounted with a maximum tilt of 20° from vertical, without any heel to port or starboard, to maintain its accuracy. Additionally, to avoid magnetic interference, the compass must not be installed within 0.6 meters (2 feet) of magnetic objects, including a conventional compass.
Compatibility and Positioning
The T004 is a dedicated accessory, specifically designed for the Raymarine Micro Compass. It provides a fixed mounting solution, in contrast to portable supports or recessed integration solutions that may be available for other instruments. This type of bracket is ideal for sailboats where constant and accurate reading of an external compass is crucial, especially in regattas where every degree of heading matters. It ensures that the Micro Compass is always positioned optimally for easy and reliable reading.
