Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine EV-200 autopilot kit is a steering solution built around the EV-1 AHRS sensor and the ACU-200 actuator control unit. This system integrates an attitude and heading reference sensor (AHRS) for precise data acquisition and improved autopilot performance.
EV-1 AHRS Sensor: Precision and Responsiveness
The EV-1 AHRS sensor serves as the primary heading sensor and heading computer. It operates on a nominal voltage of 12 V (powered by the SeaTalk NG system) with an operating range of 10.8 V to 15.6 V DC and a power consumption of 30 mA. Its robustness is ensured by an operating temperature range of -25 °C to +55 °C.
ACU-200 Actuator Control Unit: Steering Management
The ACU-200 actuator control unit (ACU) integrates power and control electronics for direct connection to the vessel's steering system. It is powered at 12 V DC and provides a 15 A output current. The system uses the SeaTalk NG network, NMEA2000 compatible, for simplified integration with other navigation equipment. For optimal performance, a rudder angle sensor (M81105) is recommended, though it is not strictly essential for the autopilot to function.
