Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine EV1 Evolution autopilot computer (reference E70096) is the decision-making core of the Evolution autopilot systems. Designed to replace traditional fluxgate compasses, this 9-axis attitude and heading sensor (AHRS) continuously monitors the vessel’s movements in all three dimensions. Unlike older sensors requiring complex at-sea calibration procedures, the EV1 features automatic linearization technology that adapts in real time to navigation conditions, boat speed, and dynamics.
Precision and 9-axis AHRS technology
The EV1 sensor integrates a 3-axis digital accelerometer and semiconductor sensors, delivering exceptional heading accuracy even in rough sea conditions. This technology enables the autopilot to respond instantly to course changes, pitch, roll, and yaw. With a minimal power draw of 30 mA on the SeaTalkNG network and an operating voltage tolerance of 10.8 V to 31.2 V DC, it provides optimal electrical reliability for sailboats and powerboats alike.
Simplified installation and SeaTalkNG integration
Rated IPX6 and IPX7, this 140 mm diameter compact unit can be installed indoors or outdoors, on a bulkhead or flat deck. It connects seamlessly to the SeaTalkNG or NMEA2000 network via a drop cable, transmitting heading, attitude, and yaw data to multifunction displays and p70s or p70R control heads. Compared to the EV2 model, which is specifically designed for Drive-by-Wire systems, the EV1 is the standard choice for mechanical and hydraulic steering systems paired with ACU series power units.
