Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for vessels equipped with solenoid valve steering systems, the Raymarine Evolution Solenoid Autopilot (T70160) provides a complete autopilot solution. This system integrates the EV-1 sensor, the ACU-300 actuator control unit, and the p70Rs control head. It is specifically adapted to manage common solenoid valves in hydraulic tiller systems.
Evolution EV-1 Sensor Technology
The core of the system is the EV-1 sensor, a 9-axis sensor unit that continuously monitors the vessel’s heading, pitch, roll, and yaw rate. This technology enables adaptive and precise steering, eliminating the need for manual compass calibration—a step forward compared to traditional autopilot systems that required complex configuration procedures. Connection to the SeaTalk NG network ensures seamless integration and rapid data transmission within the onboard electronics.
ACU-300 Actuator Control Unit and p70Rs Interface
The ACU-300 actuator control unit is the dedicated interface for solenoid valve steering systems. Unlike the ACU-100 or ACU-150 designed for low-power drives, or the ACU-200 and ACU-400 for higher-power hydraulic pumps or linear/rotary actuators, the ACU-300 is specifically optimized for solenoid valve management, enabling compatibility with a wide range of existing steering systems. The p70Rs control head, with its color display and buttons, provides an intuitive user interface for autopilot control. It allows quick selection of steering modes, heading adjustments, and access to advanced Evolution system functions.
