Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine A06043 cable is a SeaTalkng branch 1 meter long with a stripped end, designed for integrating equipment into the SeaTalkng network. This "spur" cable is an essential component of Raymarine's proprietary interconnection bus, allowing individual products to be connected to the system's backbone.
SeaTalkng network integration and flexibility
The SeaTalkng system stands out for its simple topology, featuring a single backbone to which Raymarine products are connected via branches (spurs). The A06043 cable, identified by its typical white color for SeaTalkng branches, facilitates these connections. It allows instruments such as ST70 or other sensors to be connected to the network. The design with a stripped end offers flexibility for custom installations where a specific termination is required, unlike fully pre-terminated cables. The SeaTalkng network is designed to simplify installation with small-diameter connectors and color-coded cables (blue for backbone, white for spurs, red stripe for power).
Technical positioning and compatibility
Although the SeaTalkng reference manual dates from 2007, this system remains a reliable and widely deployed solution for data communication on vessels. It provides native connectivity for many Raymarine products and can be interconnected with NMEA2000 systems or the older SeaTalk(1) generation via specific adapter cables. This bridging capability, often integrated into certain Raymarine products, enables extended compatibility and consolidation of onboard instrument data. The A06043 is therefore a fundamental element for extending or modifying existing SeaTalkng installations, particularly when precise lengths or custom connection types are required for optimal integration.
