Detailed description
Detailed description
The Raymarine SeaTalk NG 1-meter spur cable, part number A06039, is an essential component for building or extending a Raymarine navigation network. This cable, also called a "spur cable," is specifically designed to connect an individual device, such as an instrument display, sensor, or GPS antenna, to the main data bus (the backbone) of your SeaTalk NG installation.
Integration with SeaTalk NG and NMEA2000 networks
Raymarine's SeaTalk NG system is based on the standard NMEA2000 protocol but uses proprietary connectors for superior robustness and waterproofing in marine environments. This spur cable features white connectors, unlike backbone cables, which use blue connectors. This color coding prevents wiring errors and ensures network integrity. Its 1-meter length strikes an excellent balance, offering more flexibility than the 40cm model (A06038) for slightly offset devices while avoiding the excess cable of the 3m model (A06040), which could complicate installation.
Reliability and performance
Cable A06039 provides both power to the connected device and bidirectional data transfer. The connectors feature a quarter-turn locking ring for a secure connection resistant to vibration and shock—critical for the reliability of onboard electronic systems. It is compatible with all Raymarine equipment equipped with a SeaTalk NG port, enabling simple and rapid plug-and-play integration of your instruments.
