Detailed description

The Rebelcell DC-DC converter 12V25A converts an input DC voltage between 8 and 42 V into a stabilized 12.4 V output, limited to 25 A / 310 W. It allows designing a power supply for 12 V electronics on a compatible battery, notably a fishfinder with a depth sounder. It does not charge a battery and does not validate any specific device, engine or installation.

Input and output use M4 terminals. The manufacturer provides for external 25 A fuses on both sides and includes two additional 25 A fuses with M4 connectors in the kit; connection cables are not included. The converter has no reverse polarity protection: check polarity, actual voltage, total current, connectors, cable cross-section and length before connection. No specific fishfinder or universal harness is included.

The housing is rated IP65, but Rebelcell recommends a dry, cool, ventilated location, never at the bottom of the boat or on the battery. It must not be submerged. Its 30–42 V range remains within the converter’s 8–42 V input; verify the actual installation, external 25 A fuses on both sides, M8/M4 terminals, polarity, cables and total load ≤25 A. No specific fishfinder is validated. Do not extrapolate to the 36V105 EDGE whose maximum voltage reaches 43.8 V.

What does this converter do?

It converts an 8–42V DC input to a regulated 12.4V output, with a 25A maximum (310W). Rebelcell positions it for 12V electronics, including fishfinders, but each device and installation must be checked separately. It is not a battery charger.

Can it connect to a Rebelcell 12V, 24V or 36V battery?

The manufacturer states it can be used with Rebelcell batteries whose actual operating voltage stays within 8–42V. Verify the exact battery voltage, terminals and protection. Nominal 12/24/36V family labels do not validate a particular harness or motor.

Which fishfinder is compatible?

No exact fishfinder model is validated here. Check the unit’s permitted input voltage, continuous and startup current, polarity, connector and protection. Combined connected load must remain below 25A.

Which terminals, fuses and cables are needed?

The converter has M4 input and output terminals. Rebelcell specifies an external 25A fuse at both input and output and lists two spare 25A fuses and M4 connectors in the box. Does it protect against reversed polarity?

The housing is rated IP65, but Rebelcell requires a dry, cool, ventilated position. Do not put it on the boat floor, directly on the battery or anywhere it could be immersed. IP65 does not mean immersion-proof.
