Detailed description
Detailed description
The Garmin SERV 10-inch is a touchscreen display designed for embedded control installations. It targets boats that centralize system commands, statuses, or alarms on a dedicated interface rather than a series of isolated switches and displays.
The product’s Nexus sheet lists compatibility with CAN / EmpirBus, a 10–32 V power supply, Wi-Fi connectivity, and microSD card updates. The unit is designed for flush mounting with a cutout of approximately 252 × 164 mm and a shallow depth, making it suitable for modern consoles but requiring precise panel preparation.
In a Skysat architecture, this display must be positioned as a supervision and control interface. It can complement an electrical refit or an existing switching system, provided the connected functions, available alarms, and network dependencies are clearly documented. This is not a component to be selected in isolation: it must be validated against the distribution schematic and associated control modules.
Before installation, verify the CAN loom routing, power protection, accessibility of the microSD card for maintenance, and screen readability from the helm. On exposed installations, the quality of the peripheral seal and panel rigidity are critical to prevent water ingress or vibration damage.
