Designed for a modern and intuitive navigation experience, the Simrad NSX 3007 chartplotter is a 7-inch multifunction display for recreational boaters and anglers. It serves as a compact solution within Simrad’s NSX range, offering a streamlined user interface and extended integration capabilities comparable to larger displays in the series, but in a format suited to consoles where space is limited.
Display and GPS Performance
The NSX 3007 features a 7-inch SolarMAX™ IPS HD touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The display provides 85° viewing angles in all directions and brightness exceeding 1200 nits, ensuring optimal visibility even in bright sunlight and with polarized lenses. For positioning, an internal 10Hz GPS receiver delivers fast updates and 3-meter (9.8 ft) horizontal accuracy, supporting WAAS, MSAS, EGNOS, and GLONASS systems.
Connectivity and System Integration
This chartplotter operates on 12 V DC (10–17 V DC) with a maximum power draw of 29.7 W (2150 mA at 13.8 V). It includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Wired connectivity is provided via an Ethernet port and an NMEA 2000® Micro-C port, enabling seamless integration with HALO® radars, Simrad® autopilots, and third-party systems such as Mercury® (SmartCraft® Connect, VesselView®), CZone®, OmniSense, Dometic, and Lumishore. The NSX 3007 also supports IP video integration. Note that this model is supplied without a transducer, leaving the choice of sonar technology to the user.
Chartplotting and Sonar
The NSX 3007 supports optimized C-MAP® DISCOVER™ X and C-MAP REVEAL™ X marine charts, offering intuitive presentation, daily updates, customizable depth shading, and high-resolution bathymetry with 1-foot contour lines. Features include faster Autorouting and a chart inspection function for quick access to point-of-interest data. While the transducer is not included, the NSX 3007 is compatible with Active Imaging™ technology (CHIRP, SideScan, DownScan Imaging™) and FishReveal™, and can handle transducers up to 1kW for enhanced deep-penetration performance. A MicroSD slot is available for chart storage, and the unit can store 6,000 waypoints, 500 routes with a maximum of 100 waypoints per route, and 50 tracks with up to 12,000 track points.
