BACKBONE 15m S-LINK cable

Designed for the connectivity of thruster systems and accessories, the Sleipner BACKBONE S-LINK 15m cable (manufacturer reference 6 1320-15M) is a component of the S-Link network. This system is based on the CAN (Controller Area Network) standard and integrates the S-Link structure while using proprietary Sleipner commands for specific integration.

Connectivity and Power Supply

This 15-meter cable serves as a common bus for communication and power distribution across the various Sleipner products installed on board a vessel. It supports a power supply voltage of 12 to 24VDC. Low-power units can be powered directly via the S-Link bus. The design allows unlimited transfer of commands and information over a single cable, providing user feedback to control panels and smart troubleshooting capabilities.

Design and Installation

The cable features compact, watertight, blue-colored connectors designed for "Plug and Play" connection. The connectors are equipped with unique keying to prevent connection errors. Manufactured for marine environments, it is splash-resistant and suitable for installations exposed to moisture or occasional splashes. The S-Link system is modular and scalable, allowing the use of different cable lengths, extensions, and T-connectors. For installation, it is recommended to avoid sharp bends, not to permanently submerge the cables, and to place the power cable near the center of the backbone for uniform voltage distribution. The backbone must be terminated at each end.
