Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for safety and performance, the Sleipner SE100 24V explosion-proof thruster, part number SE100/185T-24IP, is a maneuvering solution suited for vessels from 12 to 17 meters (35 to 55 feet). This tunnel thruster delivers 100 kg of thrust at 21V DC and 116 kg at 24V DC, with a tunnel diameter of 185 mm and a twin-propeller propulsion system. Its design incorporates advanced technologies to simplify and secure navigation and harbor maneuvers.
Explosion-proof safety and durability
The IP (Ignition Protected) version of the SE100 24V complies with ISO 8846, making it suitable for installation in environments potentially exposed to gasoline vapors or other flammable gases. This feature is critical for boats equipped with gasoline engines. Durability is ensured by galvanically isolated submerged components, preventing corrosion. The gearcase lubrication system is sealed for life with ceramic and carbon surfaces, protecting against water intrusion. The housing is splash-resistant, allowing installation in potentially wet areas.
Performance and integrated technologies
The Sleipner SE100 24V thruster features Q-PROP™ technology with five-blade profiled propellers, reducing noise levels by 20 to 40% in real-world use and up to 75% in controlled tests, while maintaining or improving thrust. The patented Intelligent Power Control (IPC) system minimizes the delay between direction changes, reducing mechanical wear and monitoring solenoid operation. An overheating protection automatically shuts down the system if internal temperatures rise too high. A flexible coupling compensates for minor misalignments between the electric motor shaft and the gearcase, protecting the transmission. The twin-propeller system is designed to deliver superior thrust in the same tunnel diameter as a single-propeller system.
Installation and control
With a power output of 6.3 kW (8.4 HP) at 21V, the SE100 24V requires a minimum battery capacity of 760 CCA SAE and a recommended fuse of 325 Amp (SMANL325). Its design allows flexible installation: it can be mounted at any angle in the tunnel, and the electric motor can be oriented at 90 degrees on its bracket to adapt to various vessel configurations. Control is via Sleipner analog signal cables with "Plug & Play" connectors for simplified installation. Safety features include child lock, automatic deactivation after use, protection against reverse thrust timer, and mechanical protection of the drive gear.
