Retractable Thruster SR100/185T 12V

Designed for vessels from 10 to 17 meters (35 to 55 feet), the Sleipner SR100/185T 12V retractable thruster provides a precise and discreet maneuvering solution. This system delivers a thrust of 100 kg at 10.5V DC and 116 kg at 12V DC, with a power output of 6.3 kW / 8.4 hp at 10.5V DC, for a tunnel diameter of 185 mm.

Design and performance

The SR100/185T 12V stands out with its retractable design. It deploys only during maneuvers and retracts into the hull when not in use, minimizing drag and allowing for a clean hull. It features a fast actuator for efficient deployment and retraction. The propulsion system uses paired 5-blade Q-PROP™ propellers, reducing noise by up to 75% in controlled environments while maintaining or improving thrust performance. The unit’s net weight is 44 kg and it requires a minimum battery capacity of 1425 CCA SAE with a recommended 500 A fuse (SMANL500).

Integration and safety

This thruster integrates the S-Link™ system, a bidirectional CAN-bus control system for smooth communication and integration with other Sleipner products, using plug & play wiring with waterproof and color-coded connectors. Sleipner’s Intelligent Power Control (IPC) system ensures minimal delay between direction changes, reducing mechanical wear and monitoring solenoids. In case of solenoid blockage, the thruster automatically stops. Overheat protection is provided by a thermal switch that cuts power to the electric motor if temperatures rise. The gearcase lubrication is sealed for life with durable mechanical seals. Galvanic isolation of the motor prevents stray currents and corrosion. Control panels (sold separately, such as the SM8700) include safety features such as two-button activation, locking the thruster in the retracted position, and timed shutdown. A pressure sensor on the door automatically retracts the thruster if the boat’s speed is too high.

Installation and dimensions

The SR100/185T 12V is designed for versatile installation, capable of serving as both bow and stern thrusters. Its compact dimensions (height 232 mm, length 449 mm, width 335 mm) reduce the internal space required for installation. It is compatible with powerboats and sailboats. Cable terminals are M8 type.
