SE060 12V explosion-proof thruster

The Sleipner SE060 12V thruster, manufacturer reference SE60/185S2-12IP, is designed to provide precise maneuverability for boats from 9 to 12 meters (29 to 38 feet). This explosion-proof thruster complies with ISO 8846, ensuring safe use in environments where gasoline vapors or other flammable gases may be present, making it suitable for vessels equipped with gasoline engines.

Performance and technical specifications

The SE060 delivers a thrust of 60 kg at 10.5V and 73 kg at 12V, with an output power of 3.1 kW (4 hp). It operates on 12V DC and requires a tunnel diameter of 185 mm. The unit has a current draw of 340A and requires a 325A ANL fuse, as well as a minimum battery capacity of 665 CCA (SAE). Its weight is approximately 16 kg. It features Q-PROP™ technology with a five-blade skewed propeller, designed to reduce noise levels by up to 75% in controlled environments while maintaining thrust efficiency.

Advanced features and installation

This thruster benefits from Sleipner’s Intelligent Power Control (IPC), minimizing mechanical wear and monitoring solenoids for enhanced safety. Immersed components are electrically isolated (galvanic separation) to prevent stray currents and corrosion. The drive unit features sealed-for-life lubrication, requiring no maintenance. An overheat protection system automatically shuts down the unit if internal temperature rises too high. Its single-propeller design is optimized for energy efficiency and compact integration. The electric motor can be rotated 90 degrees on its mount, offering installation flexibility in the bow or stern of the vessel. The system uses signal cables with Plug & Play connectors.
