Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for marine environments, the Veratron LinkUp resistive gateway (reference B00042201) is an interface that converts resistive sensor signals into NMEA 2000® data. This device allows essential information such as fluid levels, temperatures, or pressures to be integrated directly into an NMEA 2000 network, making it easy to display on compatible screens.
Features and configuration
The gateway is configurable via the AirWave-based Airlink interface or via NMEA 2000 using the Veratron configuration tool. Its design enables contactless configuration using a smartphone, eliminating the need for additional hardware. The LinkUp gateway is powered directly by the NMEA 2000 network, reducing the necessary wiring.
Integration and technical specifications
Approved for installation in engine compartments according to ISO 8846:1990, the Veratron LinkUp resistive gateway ensures reliability in these environments. Sensor-side connection is made via a 2-pin AMP SuperSeal connector, compatible with Veratron level sensors for a plug-and-play installation. Its specifications include:
- Operating voltage: 6 – 16.5 V
- Protection class: IP X9/K
- Nominal voltage: 12 V / 24 V
- Power consumption: ≤ 15 mA (normal mode), ≤ 120 μA (sleep mode)
- Output signal: NMEA 2000®
- Operating temperature: -40 °C to 80 °C
- Flammability: compliant with UL94
- Compliance: CE, Reach, RoHS
- Housing material: PC-FR
Compatibility and applications
The gateway supports various NMEA 2000 PGNs, including 127245 (rudder), 127505 (fluid level), 127488 and 127489 (engine parameters), as well as 130576 (flap status). It is compatible with configurations for fuel levels, fresh and waste water, coolant and oil temperatures, oil and boost pressures, rudder angles, and trim positions.
This gateway complements VMH/OceanLink systems when specific measurements need to be relayed or when built-in inputs are already in use. It is suitable for resistive level, temperature, or pressure sensors depending on the required configuration. It is designed for isolated resistive sensors to be integrated into an NMEA 2000 network and should not be considered a complete housing for a twin-engine architecture.
