Kouyoumdjian 2020 design, project halted after successive dismastings

Corum L'Épargne is a 60-foot IMOCA with foils, design byJuan Kouyoumdjian, launched onMay 5, 2020 at Port-la-Forêt. Hull and structure built byCDK Technologies using the mold from Arkéa Paprec (another Kouyoumdjian design). Project management byMer Agitée (Michel Desjoyeaux). Project director: Greg Evrard.

Project termination

After two dismastings and a keel failure in three years, Corum announced the program's end onSeptember 26, 2023, four days after the second dismasting. Fifteen team members based in Lorient were laid off. The team ruled out causes related to sailing style, sail plan, and rig loads, focusing the investigation on the mast tube and standing rigging.
