A high-performance Multi 50 design by Verdier

Réauté Chocolat is a Multi 50 (later Ocean 50) trimaran measuring 15 meters, designed by Guillaume Verdier and built in 2009 by JPS Production and CN de Larros. With its 4 tonnes for 15 m × 15 m, 180 m² of upwind sail area and 270 m² downwind, this trimaran combines lightness and power.

In 2017, the boat underwent a major refit with the installation of foils, following the technological evolution of the Multi 50 class. Armel Tripon, a veteran of offshore racing from Nantes, took the helm from 2016 with the support of the Réauté Chocolat family chocolate company (Mayenne).

Historic victory at the Route du Rhum 2018

Armel Tripon wins the Multi 50 class in the Route du Rhum 2018, finishing 3rd overall across all classes in 11 days 7 hours 32 minutes 40 seconds, non-stop. He missed the class record by only two hours.

A victory that propels Armel Tripon and Réauté Chocolat to the top of multihull offshore racing, and confirms the relevance of a 2009 Verdier design updated with 2017 technologies.
