Winner of the 2026 RORC Caribbean 600 after rescuing six sailors at sea
Born in 1995 in Nice, trained at the Sainte-Maxime Sailing Club, Robin Follin races Class40 on Solano, a Musa 40 (FRA213) launched by Sangiorgio Marine in 2025. The boat is prepared by Skysat.
Rescue of the Cata Sensation
On February 25, 2026, during the RORC Caribbean 600, the Cata Sensation catamaran capsizes in a gust exceeding 30 knots with six people on board. Robin Follin and Jules Bonnier divert Solano and recover the six sailors in 25 minutes. Once the crew is safe, they resume the race and finish first in the Class40 class ahead of the FPFP-TP skippered by Matéo Le Calvic and Pierre Boulbin. "It's normal, it's the spirit of sailors. If we were in the water, we'd want someone to do the same," Follin commented at the finish.
From Figaro to Class40
Robin Follin built his career on the Figaro circuit before switching to Class40 in 2023 with Jules Bonnier. In the Figaro class, his benchmark remains the 2022 Drheam Cup victory in a double-handed race with Basile Bourgnon on Edenred — a race led from start to finish. The transition to Class40 followed logically: "what I like is that there is racing all the time, like in Figaro".
The Solano project and the 2026 Route du Rhum
The Musa 40 #213 was launched for the 2025 season. The boat's first transatlantic race was the 2025 Transat Café L'Or with Jules Bonnier, finishing 10th in 20 days, 01 hour, 38 minutes. This was followed by a 7th place at the 2025 Rolex Fastnet Race, then victory at the 2026 Caribbean 600. The 2026 program includes the Round Ireland (June), Drheam Cup (July), before the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe in November.
