The FURUNO I4R satellite antenna is designed for television reception aboard inland and seagoing vessels, providing a solution for pleasure craft, fishing boats, workboats, and commercial vessels approximately 12 to 20 meters in length. With a 45 cm dish diameter and 220Vac power supply, it integrates advanced technologies for stable reception of Ku-band TV signals.
Tracking Technologies and Signal Quality
The FURUNO I4R employs Wide Range Search (WRS) and Dynamic Beam Tilting (DBT) technologies, grouped under the iQ² Quick&Quiet brand. These innovations enable rapid signal acquisition and effective lock maintenance, even at high speeds or in rough sea conditions. The high-speed 2-axis tracking system ensures a rotation speed of 50° per second, while the minimum EIRP of 49 dBW guarantees robust reception performance. An elevation range of 0° to 90° extends reception compatibility across various latitudes. The antenna supports circular or linear polarization depending on the region and selected LNB, and operates on the Ku frequency band (10.7~12.75 GHz).
Integration and Advanced Features
This 50 cm diameter, 54 cm tall antenna, weighing 11.6 kg, includes an HD module for Ku-band HD TV channel reception. It features an integrated GPS for rapid signal acquisition and an NMEA 0183 interface on its Antenna Control Unit (ACU) for connection to the vessel’s GPS. The ACU provides intuitive controls, a digital display, and supports wireless updates and diagnostics via Aptus PC and Aptus Mobile. The FURUNO I4R supports 4 decoder outputs and is compatible with global satellite TV service providers, with automatic satellite switching and manual Skew adjustment. Designed for simplified installation, it requires only a single cable between the antenna and controller, and includes a self-diagnostic system for enhanced reliability. Its operation is guaranteed across a temperature range of -25°C to +55°C.
