Detailed description
Detailed description
The FURUNO TILLER-NFU remote control is a non-follow-up (NFU) controller designed for NAVpilot autopilot systems in the 700 series, including the NAVpilot711C. This device allows temporary deviation of the vessel’s heading to port or starboard. When the lever is released, the NAVpilot automatically returns the vessel to its programmed course. It functions as an on/off switch for heading deviation, without providing control over the rudder deflection angle.
Design and Compatibility
This pack includes one XD4PA22 joystick and two ZBE101 contact blocks. The NAVpilot711C features two dedicated interfaces for remote controls (NFU, FU, Dodge), allowing multiple NFU tillers to be connected in parallel on the same output. The FURUNO TILLER-NFU remote control has an IP66 protection rating, ensuring resistance to marine environments. Note that the NAVpilot711C’s FANTUM FEEDBACK™ mode is a technology that eliminates the need for a physical rudder feedback unit, and its operation is unaffected by the use of this NFU remote control.
Technical Components
The XD4PA22 is a 2-direction joystick controller with automatic return to the 0 position. It features a chrome-plated metal bezel and a Zamak mounting collar with a 22 mm mounting diameter. It includes one normally open (NO) contact per direction, with slow actuation and silver alloy contacts. Its protection rating is IP66, NEMA 13 and 4X, with IK03 shock resistance. Its mechanical durability is 1,000,000 cycles, and it operates within an ambient temperature range of -25°C to 70°C, with a net weight of 0.116 kg.
The ZBE101 is a single contact block with one normally open (NO) contact, slow actuation, and silver alloy contacts. It uses screw terminals and has an IP20 protection rating per IEC 60529. Its mechanical durability is 10,000,000 cycles, and it supports an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, with a net weight of 0.011 kg.
