Detailed description
Detailed description
The Mastervolt Charge Mate 2502 is an automatic battery relay designed to optimize the management of two battery banks in marine installations and recreational vehicles. This intelligent device automatically connects the two batteries during charging phases and isolates them the rest of the time, thereby preventing the main battery from being discharged by auxiliary equipment. Particularly suited to small installations, the Charge Mate 2502, like the Charge Mate 1202 from the same range, offers a compact and reliable solution for increased energy autonomy on board.
Performance and Flexibility
With universal 12/24 V compatibility and automatic nominal voltage detection, the Charge Mate 2502 easily integrates into various electrical systems. It supports a maximum continuous current of 500 A and a starting current (over 250 ms) up to 2000 A, ensuring robustness for high current demands. Its automatic mode triggers the connection of the batteries when the voltage exceeds 13 V (for 12 V) or 26 V (for 24 V) for 5 seconds, and disconnects them when the voltage drops below 12.75 V (for 12 V) or 25.50 V (for 24 V) after a 3-minute delay. A power consumption of less than 1 mA in open switch mode ensures low self-discharge.
Advanced Features and Integration
The Charge Mate 2502 offers several operating modes: on, off, auto, and start assist. With an optional remote switch, it can be used as a coupling solenoid for emergency starts, ensuring parallel connection of the batteries for 30 seconds. Its electromechanical relay is designed to operate within a wide ambient temperature range, from -40 °C to 60 °C. With an IP21 protection rating, it is ideal for installation in compartments protected from direct moisture, such as most electrical panels or indoor technical areas. Its compact dimensions of 90 x 80 x 85 mm and weight of 0.65 kg facilitate integration even in confined spaces.
