Gepeto Composite
Gepeto Composite — Lorient La Base's composite workshop behind the Veedol Route du Rhum 2018 and the Crédit Mutuel Globe 40 2025-2026
Founded in 2000 by Eric Beylot and taken over in 2011 by Gautier Nollet, Gepeto Composite is based at Lorient La Base. The team (8 employees) occupies 1,200 m² of workshops equipped with a 20 m oven and an autoclave.
Gepeto is not a full-service yard: it is a specialized composite workshop. Core activity is custom parts for offshore racing (foil wells, floats, central hulls, structures), supplemented by occasional interventions for race teams. Other trades (fittings, systems, deck) are handled by the teams or other yards.
Processes
Vacuum bagged wet layup, infusion, pre-preg carbon-epoxy layup with oven curing. Classes handled: Class40, IMOCA, Mini, Ocean Fifty.
