Daniel Jones

Owner-skipper of the Pogo S4 Gambit, 2025 RORC Class40 vice-champion

British skipper in Class40. He helms and ownsGambit, Pogo S4 designed by Guillaume Verdier (hull #192, launched 2022, formerlySeahorse Magazine). He primarily competes on the RORC circuit, with a core of recurring crew: Jonathan Tyrrell, Calanach Finlayson, and Ruaridh Wright depending on the event.

The RORC circuit as playground

The 2025 season is his best to date: 2nd in the RORC Season's Points Championship in Class40, class win in the Channel Race, and 17th overall in the Rolex Fastnet (3 days 14 hours 38 minutes) with Tyrrell and Finlayson. In 2024, he had already won the Class40 division of the Morgan Cup in 20 hours 53 minutes. The same season, the CIC Normandy Channel Race ended in a DNF with Tyrrell and Wright.

A Pogo S4 under British flag

Gambit is one of the 2022-generation Pogo S4 Verdier designs. Built by Structures in Combrit, it raced under the name Seahorse Magazine before being acquired by Jones. The boat now competes almost exclusively on the RORC calendar.
