Marine wireless chargers: charge without visible cables
A marine wireless charger allows you to place your phone on a Qi charging area and avoid repeated connections in a damp environment. This is useful at the helm, in the cockpit, on a chart table, or in a cabin, especially when the phone is also used for navigation, weather, or onboard communication.
Choose the installation format
The first choice concerns integration. A surface-mounted model simply sits on a console or bulkhead. A flush-mounted or invisible model is installed under a compatible surface to keep the worktop clear. A stand-mounted support keeps the phone readable while charging. A mat with a retainer limits phone movement when the boat is underway.
The ROKK Wireless Catch 10W is designed to hold the phone in place while charging. The ROKK Wireless Surface 10W is suitable for visible mounting, while the ROKK Wireless 10W flush-mounted suits more discreet installations.
10W, 15W, magnetic or active stand
Charging power depends on the phone, Qi compatibility, temperature, and available power supply. A 10W charger is sufficient for many onboard uses. 15W models are better suited for phones with fast-charging compatibility or stations where the phone remains in use with the screen on.
For a more direct phone attachment, the ROKK Wireless Ultra 15W magnetic targets devices compatible with magnetic attachment. Supports like the ROKK Wireless Edge 15W or the ROKK Wireless Active 15W keep the phone accessible and visible while charging.
Watertightness, power supply, and charging safety
On a boat, watertightness and electrical stability are as important as the rated power. Check the accepted input voltage, splash resistance, standby consumption, metal object detection, and thermal cut-off. A charger exposed to sunlight may reduce power if the phone overheats, so placement remains important.
The ROKK Wireless Sub 10W allows integration under thicker surfaces depending on the installation. The ROKK Wireless Nano 10W suits compact installations, and the ROKK Wireless Aura 10W adds a lighting function where suitable.
When to prefer a USB port?
Wireless charging is convenient for reducing cables and protecting the phone’s port, but a USB port remains useful for non-Qi devices, faster charging depending on the charger, or equipment that needs to stay powered for long periods. Both solutions are often complementary onboard.
Before choosing, check the location, type of mount, phone compatibility, surface thickness if the charger is hidden, available 12/24V power, and circuit protection. For wired alternatives, see the USB chargers. For complete installations, the Electrical collection includes complementary equipment.
