Detailed description
Detailed description
The standard 213 B&G spar is a replacement part for the B&G 213 masthead unit, a wind sensor for offshore sailing. It is compatible with B&G H5000 and H3000 navigation instrument systems. It is a component used to measure wind speed and direction.
Specifications of the 213 masthead unit
The 213 masthead unit, of which the standard spar is a component, transmits wind data via analog and pulse signals. The complete assembly weighs 0.2 kg and has an IP66 waterproof rating. It includes a three-cup anemometer for wind speed and a vane for wind direction, providing raw data required by the navigation system to calculate true wind speed (TWS) and velocity made good (VMG).
Maintenance and position in the B&G range
B&G offers the WS300 and WS700 sensor series for new installations; the 213 unit remains in use on H3000 and H5000 systems. It is field-maintainable, with wear parts such as bearings replaceable. The standard 213 spar is used for repair or maintenance of these units.
