Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G WS320 wireless interface is the Bluetooth receiver specifically designed for the WS320 wireless wind transducer. It is the essential component that bridges the gap between the masthead sensor and your boat's NMEA 2000 network, translating wireless signals into usable data for your B&G multifunction displays and autopilots. This product, referenced under SKU 000-14388-001, includes only the interface and does not include the wind transducer.
Connectivity and Performance
Using Bluetooth 4.0 technology, this interface ensures a stable and reliable connection with the WS320 transducer up to a range of 30 meters. It receives wind speed and angle data and transmits it to the NMEA 2000 network at a refresh rate of 5 Hz (5 times per second). This high frequency ensures responsiveness and data fluidity equivalent to the brand's traditional wired systems, such as the WS310, which is crucial for autopilot performance and the accuracy of sailing navigation instruments.
Installation and Power
Integrating the WS320 interface is made as simple as possible. Power (9-16 V DC) and data connection are made directly via the NMEA 2000 network using a standard Micro-C connector. Its power consumption is low, at 1.2 W (less than 100 mA at 12 V DC) for a network load of 2 LEN. The compact and lightweight housing (0.1 kg) is IPX7 waterproof certified, allowing installation in the most demanding marine environments, protected from the elements. Configuration and pairing with the wind sensor are done from a compatible B&G multifunction display.
Product Positioning: Interface Only
This product is the WS320 wireless interface sold separately. It is primarily intended for replacing a damaged or lost existing unit, or for custom installations. To create a complete and functional wind measurement system, this interface must be paired with the WS320 wireless wind transducer, which is sold separately or in the complete WS320 pack. The complete WS320 system represents a modern alternative to wired sensors, eliminating the hassle of running cables through the mast without any compromise on accuracy.
