Mobius Motion: Hydraulic Cylinders for Offshore Racing
Mobius Motion (Carnac, Brittany) designs and manufactures electric marine actuators for racing sailboats — IMOCA, Class40, Ocean50, Ultim, and fast monohulls. Integrated R&D and design department since 2017, manufacturing in France. A single modular platform: the L300-700, available in multiple mounting geometries and configurations.
L300-700: The Platform
The L300-700 is designed from the ground up for offshore racing. Integrated sensors (position feedback, load cell, rudder angle), embedded controller, brushless electric motor.
- Performance. 700 kg nominal load, 1500 kg peak load, 59.6 mm/s under load, 68 mm/s unloaded. Stroke length 175 mm or 300 mm.
- Precision. Integrated linear position feedback, internal load cell, rudder angle — no external sensors to connect.
- Modularity. Multiple mounting geometries, several configurations depending on the program. Adapts to nearly all rudder transmission architectures.
- Open integration. Compatible with Madintec, B&G, Raymarine, Garmin.
Race-Validated
- Sodebo Ultim 3 — Jules Verne Trophy 2026. Two L300-700 actuators on the rudder transmission, active for 97% of the course. 40 days non-stop, 27,000 nm, zero actuator failure.

Skysat is a Mobius Motion integrator: complete autopilot system design, actuator sizing based on program (racing, rudder load, response speed), mounting geometry selection, installation, calibration, onboard training. The L300-700 is not a catalog product: each delivery is preceded by a technical exchange to validate integration.
