A legend of the seas that has topped every peak

The trimaran Mieux is no ordinary boat: it is one of the most iconic oceanic multihulls ever built. Launched in 2001 under the name Geronimo by the Multiplast yard in Vannes for Olivier de Kersauson, this 33-metre trimaran designed by Gilles Ollier has had an extraordinary career.

In 2004, Geronimo won the Jules Verne Trophy in 63 days, setting the crewed round-the-world record at the time. Acquired later by Sodebo and renamed Sodebo Ultim', it was extensively refitted by VPLP and Benoît Cabaret for Thomas Coville, who set several benchmark records aboard it (North Atlantic, solo round-the-world in 49 days in 2016).

The challenge of the 2022 Route du Rhum

In 2022, Arthur Le Vaillant took on a rare challenge: to relaunch this historic giant in the 2022 Route du Rhum in the ULTIM category, with a compressed preparation. To single-handedly sail this 31-metre trimaran across the North Atlantic, the skipper needed fully reliable electronics and power management.

Skysat, which knows every cable of this trimaran from having equipped it in its previous lives, was on hand. After a gruelling crossing, Arthur Le Vaillant finished 6th in the ULTIM class — a remarkable performance for the fleet’s oldest boat against recent foil-equipped designs. A demonstration that rigorous technique and reliability make the difference on the water.
