Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for precise underwater detection, the Garmin Airmar B175HW 12° through-hull transducer is a high-frequency CHIRP transducer. It is specifically configured for Garmin fishfinders with an 8-pin connector, delivering detailed sonar images for fishing and navigation.
Advanced technical features
This transducer delivers 1 kW of power and operates over a high-frequency range from 150 to 250 kHz. Its key feature is a constant 25° beamwidth across all frequencies, providing twice the coverage in the upper water column compared to narrow-beam transducers. Maximum detection depth reaches 152 meters (500 feet). The element is tilted at 12° to compensate for keel angles between 8° and 15°, eliminating the need for a fairing block. The bronze housing ensures robustness suitable for marine environments.
Design and integration
The Garmin Airmar B175HW incorporates a fast-response depth and water temperature sensor. Its flush-mounted, low-profile housing protrudes less than 0.25 inches, allowing trailerable passage without damage. It is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls and uses a urethane acoustic window. The transducer comes with a 9-meter CHIRP Mix & Match cable and a 1-meter adapter cable for easy connection to Garmin 8-pin systems. Some versions include Xducer ID® technology for automatic recognition.
Versatile applications
With its wide beam, this transducer is suited for coastal and pelagic fishing, where resolution and coverage are critical. It delivers strong shallow-water performance, precise bottom detail, and improved target separation. It weighs approximately 2.7 kg and requires a 95 mm drilling diameter. This model is recommended for boats up to 11 meters (36 feet).
