Detailed description
Detailed description
The AIRMAR B60-12 is a bronze through-hull transducer rated at 600W, designed for accurate depth and water temperature measurement. This model features Airmar’s Tilted Element™ technology with a fixed 12° tilt angle, compensating for hull deadrise angles between 8° and 15°.
Performance and Technical Specifications
With 600W power, the AIRMAR B60-12 operates on two distinct frequencies: 50 kHz and 200 kHz. The 50 kHz frequency offers a 45° beam width and a maximum depth detection of 366 meters (1200 feet). The 200 kHz frequency provides a 12° beam width and a maximum depth of 213 meters (700 feet). It is designed to deliver reliable depth readings and fast response for water temperature.
Design and Installation
The AIRMAR B60-12 housing is made of bronze, ensuring durability suitable for marine environments. Its low-profile design, with only 5 mm (3/16") extending outside the hull, minimizes hydrodynamic drag and does not affect boat performance, making it suitable for trailerable vessels. It is compatible with fiberglass or wooden hulls and requires a mounting hole with a 60 mm (2-3/8") diameter. The transducer weighs 1.4 kg (3 lb) and is typically supplied with a 10-meter (33-foot) cable. The acoustic window is made of urethane.
System Compatibility
The AIRMAR B60-12 is compatible with a range of Furuno equipment, including GP1871F, GP1971F, FCV628, FCV588, BBDS1, TZTL12F, TZTL15F, TZT2BB, TZT9F, TZT12F, TZT16F, and TZT19F. When connected to compatible Furuno units such as the FCV628 or FCV588, it can enable advanced features like bottom discrimination and Accu-Fish™. It is designed for use on vessels with an overall length (LOA) up to 8 meters (26 feet).
