Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for fiberglass or wooden hulls with a deadrise angle between 16° and 24°, the AIRMAR B60-20 bronze through-hull depth sounder is a 600W solution providing depth and water temperature measurements. It features Airmar’s Tilted Element™ technology with a 20°-tilted ceramic element to direct the sonar beam vertically toward the seabed, optimizing echo return accuracy. This design allows for a nearly flush installation with only 5 mm (3/16") of protrusion outside the hull, minimizing drag.
Dual-Frequency Performance and Sounding Capability
The AIRMAR B60-20 operates on two distinct frequencies: 50 kHz and 200 kHz. The 50 kHz frequency offers a 45° beam width and a maximum range of 366 meters (1200'), ideal for deep-water detection and broad coverage. The 200 kHz frequency, with its narrower 12° beam, delivers higher resolution details up to 213 meters (700'). This depth sounder includes an integrated fast-response water temperature sensor. Its diameter is 60 mm (2-3/8") for installation, with a usable shaft length of 68.5 mm (2.70"). It weighs 1.4 kg and uses a urethane acoustic window.
Integration and Compatibility
The AIRMAR B60-20 depth sounder is compatible with various fishfinders and chartplotters, including Furuno GP1871F, GP1971F, FCV628, FCV588, BBDS1, TZTL12F, TZTL15F, TZT2BB, TZT9F, TZT12F, TZT16F, TZT19F. It is offered as part of Airmar’s "Mix & Match" system, allowing the use of adapter cables for specific connectors such as Furuno 10-pin, Garmin 8-pin, or Navico 9-pin, ensuring flexibility in integrating with various marine electronic systems. While this version is in bronze, an SS60 stainless steel version is also available for compatibility with all hull materials.
