Detailed description
Detailed description
The Airmar AI-33-523-01 streamlined fairing block is designed to optimize the installation and performance of the B258 DT through-hull transducer. This accessory compensates for the boat’s deadrise angle, ensuring the transducer’s beam is directed vertically toward the bottom for accurate readings.
Hydrodynamic optimization
By adapting specifically to the hull, the Airmar AI-33-523-01 streamlined fairing block reduces turbulence around the B258 DT transducer. This setup ensures optimal signal reception and transmission, even at speeds up to 30 knots (55 km/h). The block can be adjusted for deadrise angles up to 26°, or 28° with the fairing block.
Compatibility and performance
This fairing block is dedicated to the Airmar B258 DT transducer, a 1 kW through-hull transducer operating on two frequencies (50 kHz and 200 kHz) and providing depth and water temperature measurements. The B258 DT uses four ceramic elements for enhanced sensitivity, offering a maximum range of 647 meters at 50 kHz and 294 meters at 200 kHz. Integrating the streamlined fairing block is essential to fully leverage the transducer’s potential on vessels 9 meters and larger, particularly sport fishing boats and small commercial fishing vessels.
