Detailed description
Detailed description
Designed for demanding marine environments, the Ancor 100' 2/0 black tinned copper cable is a robust wiring solution for high-current applications such as battery connections and main distribution circuits.
Marine-Specific Design
This 2/0 AWG (67.43 mm²) single-conductor cable is constructed with ultra-flexible stranding (Type 3) consisting of 1330 strands of 30 AWG tinned copper. This design provides resistance to fatigue from vibration and repeated flexing, common in marine installations. Tinned copper provides maximum protection against corrosion and electrolysis, extending cable life in saltwater environments.
Insulation and Environmental Resistance
High-quality vinyl insulation protects the cable from marine aggressors including saltwater, battery acid, oil, gasoline, heat, abrasion, and UV rays. This insulation maintains flexibility down to -40°C. The cable is rated for 600 volts and operates at 105°C dry / 75°C wet, ensuring stable performance in varied conditions.
Compliance and Technical Specifications
With a nominal outer diameter of 15.9 mm (5/8") and a circular mil area of 133,000, this cable meets industry marine standards including UL 1426, ABYC (American Boat & Yacht Council), and US Coast Guard Charter boat (CFR Title 46). Its electrical resistance is 0.077 ohms per 1000 feet (304.8 meters), making it suitable for high-current needs.
