Detailed description
Detailed description
The B&G ZG100 GPS antenna is a position receiver and heading sensor designed for B&G instrument systems and chartplotters. It provides position, heading, speed over ground (SOG) and course over ground (COG) data at a 10 Hz refresh rate.
GPS and integrated sensors
The ZG100 features a 32-channel GPS receiver, compatible with GPS, GLONASS and Galileo constellations, and supports SBAS augmentation systems (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS) for 3-meter horizontal accuracy. The update rate is configurable up to 10 times per second (10 Hz). It includes an electronic compass and inertial sensors, providing magnetic heading with +/- 3° accuracy, yaw rate (+/- 3°), and roll and pitch (heel/trim) with +/- 1° accuracy at 30° tilt.
Position in the B&G range
The ZG100 supplies heading data for chart stabilization in "North-up" mode or for overlaying radar images on cartography. For functions requiring higher heading accuracy, such as autopilot in heading mode or MARPA target tracking, B&G recommends a compass like the B&G Precision-9. The ZG100 is suitable for instrumentation and general navigation; the Precision-9 is intended for autopilot and anticollision systems.
Technical specifications and connectivity
The ZG100 antenna connects to the network via a standard NMEA 2000 Micro-C port. It is powered by the network (9-18 V DC) with power consumption below 100 mA at 12 V DC (less than 2 W). Its 90 mm diameter housing is waterproof to IPX7 standards for deck mounting. It transmits NMEA 2000 PGNs for position (129025), COG & SOG (129026), heading (127250), yaw rate (127251) and attitude (127257).
